A new season! A new season! Or is there? Many fans of Gravity Falls, which premiered originally on Disney XD on June 15, 2012, are spiraling deeper into more recent theories. After Disney released a ‘How NOT to Draw’ short featuring Bill Cipher and Grunkle Stan, Gravity Falls enthusiasts are jumping for joy at the thought of a new animation.
In the video Disney released, Bill Cipher accidentally gets “unleashed” onto animator Alan Ruck’s desk. Even though Bill Cipher is seen as the villain, many fans still cherish him.
Having not seen any recent content on this show, then the main villain popping up out of nowhere has sent a whirlpool of emotions into the hearts of the followers. Many share the same thoughts about the concept of a new season, which would feature the beloved twin characters Dipper and Mabel Pines and their return to their uncle for the next summer.
While this concept seems realistic to most, the truth is that Alexander Robert Hirsch, the original writer and animator, has decided to end his Gravity Falls adventure. The last episode of season two left off with the one-hour finale, “Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back the Falls”. This episode was the show’s conclusion of Dipper and Mabel going back home after the eventful summer, the subject of the two seasons.
There are many different versions of this particular story. Everyone seems to look at the same episodes and see different things to make up theories. The question is, what are some people seeing that others aren’t? Well, for senior Dylan West, it is a simple answer.
“My favorite Gravity Falls theory is that the people Bill killed are trying to either speak to or through him,” West said.
