Teachers at Blair High School have been engaged or are recently engaged. All of the fiancés are getting married this coming summer and they are excited to start this new journey with the love of their lives.
Question 1– What has been the best part about being engaged and why?
Journalism and English teacher, Christian Dames: “For me, it’s been the anticipation that I’m going to be living with my best friend for the rest of my life”
FCS teacher, Tabitha Rogge: “Planning with my family and with my fiancé. I also really enjoyed picking out my wedding dress and looking at Pinterest all day”
Choir teacher, Patrick Hays: “It’s been exciting planning the wedding, and getting to see our friends and family we haven’t seen in a long time”
Biology and Science teacher, Avery Misfeldt: “The best part about being engaged is showing off my ring”
Question 2– How has been the wedding planning and is there a set date?
C.D: “Planning has been going really efficiently because my fiancé is very impatient, we also have a lot of the wedding planned already. We have our venue booked, photographer settled on, and then a coordinator as well. The set date is June, 20th, 2026”
T.R: “We are getting married in South Dakota because that’s where my fiance is from. We have the DJ, the music, a videographer, and a photographer booked. The set date is June 6th, 2026”
P.H: I’s been nice because my fiance, Becca, is like an event coordinator for her job. The set month is next July”
A.M: The planning was nice because I had all summer to do it. I also found my dress this summer so that was super fun. The set date is June 27th, 2026”
Question 3– What thoughts were going through your head when the question was asked?
C.D: “Asking her to marry me, I didn’t have a whole lot of nerves. I just wanted everything to go smoothly and I wanted her to feel comfortable”
P.H: “Terrifying, but it was really great and I was just excited”
A.M: “We go to take a picture and he gets on one knee and he just surprises everyone”
Question 4– How did you know they were the one?
C.D: “The way she was interacting with my family, and we didn’t have a whole lot of problems with our families, and I think that’s when you know it’s your person. Also the fact that she gets me to drive to Kansas City”
T.R: “He is very supportive in everything I do, and when I come home from teaching, he’s willing to do whatever I need”
P.H: “From the first couple of dates, we knew we had a lot of similarities and our families are both very musical”
A.M: “You get this feeling of completion, and you want to spend every day with them”
Question 5– Who all was involved with your engagement?
C.D: “My family knew about it, and my best friend from Omaha also knew about it”
P.H: “Everybody knew that is was going to happen, but during the moment we were basically by ourselves”
A.M: “My parents, my sister, brother, brother-in-law, and my sister-in-law were all there”
All of these soon to be married teachers are excited about their new journey ahead. They found their person and are excited to spend the rest of their lives with their soulmates.
